These ammonite fossils date from the Lower Jurassic to Upper Cretaceous periods.   These ammonites have been expertly cut in half, polished, and sealed with a clear lacquer.  They are perfect for display, collecting, or jewelry making.  (For example, these could be used with a setting as a pendant.)

Ammonites are similar in appearance to well-known Nautilus, but it is actually much more ancient.(over 65 million years old).  These fossils have been mineralized on their interior, where there are beautiful deposits of calcite, hematite, and other crystals.   The backside of each ammonite (not shown) has an iridescent sheen to it.

They are much more colorful than they appear in these photos - photos just can't do them justice.  Each ammonite is approx. 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch in diameter.  The black centimeter cube is shown for size comparison, and is not included.
