This big piece of milky yellow-orange
Baltic
amber originates from Eocene epoch deposits at the famous Kaliningrad
locality (Samland, Konigsberg) in Russia. Baltic amber washes up on
the shores of the Baltic sea after violent storms. It is also dredged
up and mined from marine deposits. Baltic amber is several million
years old and often contains inclusions of insects or plants. This
specimen has not been searched and it is unpolished. It is ready for
jewelry-making or collecting.
This piece weighs 9.3 grams.
