This is a piece of rare Borneo
amber. This piece weighs 4.38 grams, and it is rough and unpolished When this piece is polished, you never know what you might
get lucky and find - maybe some plant matter, maybe an insect, who
knows? Borneo amber is a rarely-seen variety of amber that is
increasingly difficult to acquire. This particular piece comes from an
old collection.
Borneo amber originates from (Sarawak, Malaysia). It is found in
irregular blobs which are embedded in coal seams. Most Borneo amber
comes from the Miocene-epoch deposits at the Merit Pila open-pit coal
mine. Borneo amber is known as a solid amber that is very good for
polishing.
