This handsome 3x4 (inches) display is covered in a black pebblegrain finish and has a glass window to show the specimen inside. Inside the display is a sample of Canyon Diablo iron meteorites which were collected from the area around the crater in the Arizona desert. The sample is set against a color aerial photo of the crater, which is the world's most-preserved and intact impact crater. Every meteorite collector should have a Canyon Diablo specimen. It is a classic American meteorite and it played a large role in the scientific research of the legendary Harvey Nininger, the father of modern meteoritics.
Refer to the photo. The black centimeter cube is shown for scale and is not included. You are purchasing a display like the one shown. Your display will have 2-5 small iron meteorite fragments. Note, each sample is unique and may vary slightly in appearance.
