This fulgurite weighs .630 grams or approx. 3.1 carats.  It is a flat piece that is partially-hollow and has a good amount of surface area for the weight. 

Fulgurites are formed when lightning strikes the silica-rich sand dunes in the Saharan Desert.  The same nomads who pick up meteorites, also harvest these fulgurites.  These have a bumpy, glassy texture and some are hollow.  Each one is different and represents natures glass-making process.  Your purchase includes a data label.
