This fulgurite weighs 1.71 grams or approx. 8.5 carats.  It is a long, rounded piece with a good amount of surface area for the weight.

Fulgurites are formed when lightning strikes the silica-rich sand dunes in the Saharan Desert.  The same nomads who pick up meteorites, also harvest these fulgurites.  These have a bumpy, glassy texture and some are hollow.  Each one is different and represents natures glass-making process.  Your purchase includes a data label.
