Lanton - Rare Missouri Iron Meteorite from Howell County 1932

The Lanton iron meteorite (IIIAB) was unearthed from Howell County Missouri.  It was found in 1932, buried in the ground and covered in a thick rind of oxidized shale.  The meteorite has a low nickel content, which usually spells doom for ancient meteorites such as these because low nickel meteorites rust quicker.  But, this meteorite is shock-hardened and this probably helped preserve it.  The vast majority of this meteorite is in the collection of the Missouri Bureau of Geology and Minerals.  Through a trusted contact, I was able to acquire several grams of shale fragments from one the Lanton masses.  As far as I know, I am the only dealer on the planet who is offering this material.  If you are a collector of US meteorites, Missouri meteorites, or iron meteorites - don't miss this rare opportunity to own a piece of this iron meteorite that is locked away from the private market.

Refer to the photo.  The black centimeter cube is shown for scale and is not included.  You are purchasing several shale fragments taken from the same lot shown in the photo.  Your purchase will include a labelled gemjar for safe storage.
