This Life magazine is complete with no major flaws - it does show the expected shelf wear from being over 40 years old, but is otherwise in great collectible condition. This issue features a long article about the Apollo 9 astronauts and the Apollo space program. It has many rarely-seen photos of the astronauts and their families. It also has some spectacular photos of the landscape around the launch site with the gantry in the background. In addition, there are some great period articles from major news stories at time - The Suez conflict, Vietnam, the Mob, Hippies, and more. The vintage advertisements for old automobiles, cigarettes and consumer products are fun to read as well. This is a fine piece of historical memorabilia from the period when America's Apollo astronauts were literally on top of the world - and this classic Life magazine feature details what made this time so special.
