Czech Moldavite, Premium Grade Pristine Specimen, 15.71g

Moldavite is a beautiful green translucent glass that originates from deposits in the Czech Republic that are associated with the nearby Ries Crater impact structure in Germany. Moldavite was created when a giant meteorite slammed into the Earth and the catastrophic impact fused local minerals (and some of the meteorite) into a green, gemmy material. Over the centuries, moldavite has been prized for it's beauty in jewelry making. The highest quality moldavite is cut into faceted gemstones.

This specimen is one of the finest pieces I have had. It is undamaged without any chips or flaws. It has a deep, dark, green color with intricate surface etching. This piece is quite thick, so it looks black when it is not back-lit. This specimen weighs 15.71 grams.

Refer to the photo. The black centimeter scale cube is shown for scale and is not included. You are purchasing the specimen shown.
