This rare amber originates from the Sayreville, New Jersey locality. At approx. 90 million years old, this is the oldest amber in North America and the third oldest amber known in the world. New Jersey amber has yielded some amazing inclusions from mushrooms to beetles. New species of ants have been found in this amber and scientists continue to study it. This locality is no longer producing much amber and New Jersey specimens are rarely seen on the collector market. These pieces come from an old collection and have not been searched for inclusions.
